Are you tired of buying shaving cream every time you are out? Have you ever thought about finding your very own shaving cream recipe and going that route? There are a lot of people out there that make their own shaving cream, so don’t feel like you will be the only one.
The benefit of getting a shaving cream recipe and making your own shaving cream is that you will save money while reducing the amount of waste from shaving cream cans, jars or tubes. What happens when you are done with the shaving cream? Most people toss it in the trash and because of this there are landfills all across America filling up at a record pace. This is why using a shaving cream recipe to make your own shaving cream is so important.
Items Needed For Shaving Cream Recipe
- 36 rose petals
- 2 ounces cocoa butter
- Emollient cocoa butter mug soap (9 ounces grated)
- 4 ounces of vegetable glycerin – same amount of peppermint and eucalyptus
My Shaving Cream Recipe
- The first thing that you need to do is soak the 36 rose petals in water for a day. After one day, take out 8 ounces of the rose water and soak 9 ounces of grated cocoa butter soap in it for 12 hours. You can use a regular cheese grater for this, it will be easy to clean so don’t worry about the mess.
- Next, you will need to heat up the 2 ounces of cocoa butter and vegetable glycerin over low heat until the butter is all the way melted. Once you do that, add the 9 ounces of cocoa butter soap mixture to it.
- The next step is to use a hand mixer and blend the shaving cream until it is light and cream. Next you should add any oils that you like (for scents) to that mixture and place it in a bowl or some storage container.
There you have it, my shaving cream recipe that is fairly easy to follow and very customizable. You should follow the recipe exactly as it shows above, however, you can add in different oils to make it the way you want. Just know that this shaving cream recipe isn’t the only one out there, there are others but this is the only one I have tried that I like.

Do you have your own warm shaving cream dispenser? The reason I ask this is because a lot of people simply warm shaving cream under hot water, but doing things this way can take a while which often times results in people not doing it. If you want soft skin and a close shave every single time, then you have to use warm shaving cream and therefore, you need a warm shaving cream dispenser.
Did you know that warm shaving cream doesn’t just make your hair stand up, it also helps your pores open up? The reason why this is important to you is when you pores open up a little bit it will make it a lot easier to keep your skin looking good. If you shave your face, then you will want your pores open as much as possible so that you don’t get bumps or pimples on your face. If you shave your legs, then you will need your pores open so that you don’t get razor burn or a heat rash from shaving.
Now I know that many people just put shaving cream cans under hot water but this can become very time extensive and that is why you need to use a warm shaving cream dispenser. Did you know that a shaving cream warmer can heat the shaving cream up in less than 1 minute? If you don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning, then you will want this so that you are not late all the time. Think about it, if you have to be to work at a certain time, then you will need to make sure that your shaven and ready to go.
One other thing that you need to understand is that a warm shaving cream dispenser will benefit you because you won’t ruin the shaving cream as quickly. The reason I say this is because heating shaving cream under a faucet will cause some of the shaving cream to go bad before the rest of it does. Now I know what you are thinking, “Shaving cream doesn’t go bad”. Honestly, regular shaving cream doesn’t go bad but most people use shaving cream with scents, lotions and other things like that and this is what makes it go bad. If you don’t shave all the time you will need to do whatever you can to prolong the life of your shaving cream. Just know that a shaving cream warmer will help you with a lot of things and not just keeping your skin nice and soft.
